Who is the silent retreat for?

Our retreats are designed to meet the needs of Mindfulness-Based teachers, those training to teach Mindfulness-based Programmes MBP's, Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction MBSR, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy MBCT, and those who include mindfulness in their profession. The retreats also meet the BAMBA Good Practice Guidelines for Mindfulness Teachers and can count toward yearly retreat attendance.

The silent retreat is also suitable for those who have taken an 8-week mindfulness-based course or have a minimum of one-years meditation practice, and who would like to explore extended practice and noble silence. Full support is given by the teachers.

  • Accommodation:

To provide you with every comfort, nestled into the woodlands surrounding the retreat centre, you will find our 4 high-quality and beautiful, passive-design 2-bedroom self-contained wooden en suite eco-cabins. Each bedroom has either a double bed (single occupancy) or twin beds (for those bringing a friend or partner) with high-quality sheets, towels, and duvets.

A newly built kitchen and dining area provide all you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay but don't worry, delicious home-cooked organic vegetarian meals, biscuits, cake, fruit, tea and coffee is provided. Where-ever possible, provisions are locally sourced.

Guests comment on the peaceful energy and the delightful wood aroma of this unique, top-quality accommodation.

  • What to expect:

With plenty of time to relax and renew and without the need to communicate or ´do´anything, the silent retreat is offered in noble silence supported by spaciously guided sitting, standing, lying, mindful movement, and walking practices in the stunning local moor area as we cultivate direct exploration of both formal and informal mindfulness-based practice.

There will also be short morning and afternoon talks on relevant themes to support living well.

On at least one evening, there will be an invitation to experience a Gong Bath (relaxation)

This retreat will enable you to nourish yourself by experiencing stillness and self-connection in a remote hillside setting in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the Ox Mountains overlooking the countryside below Kesh Mountain and Knocknashee in the distance. This is also the perfect place to sit on your balcony and enjoy the picturesque countryside and the abundance of wild nature.
