• Mindfulness Level 2 Course 10th - 17th August

  • Residential Course fees:

     

    Standard Residential rate for 8 nights in a twin room with all meals  - €1605

    Subsidized Residential rate for 8 nights in a twin room with all meals  - €1365

    Fee options:  

    Subsidised Rate - This is a self-select funded rate whereby your place will be financially supported.  Please only select this rate if you are in receipt of benefits or would find it otherwise inaccessible to attend due to the fee. We will not ask for evidence of benefits or income at this stage but may ask for evidence to support your claim in the future.   

    Standard Rate - This is the market rate for this type of event and the rate we ask you to select if you are able.

  • What the price includes

     

    • 74hr contact hours of course tuition.
    • 8 nights twin room shared accommodation including delicious vegetarian meals at the Cabragh Lodge Retreat Centre. Each eco cabin has 2 twin room en-suite bedrooms, lounge with kitchenette and terrace. They are set in beautiful peaceful woodland, each enjoying comfort and privacy.
    • 1 x 60-minute private Supervision session to get you started on the pre-course preparation (worth €50)
    • 1 x 60-minute private Supervision session on your return home to discuss the MBI-TAC and your next teacher training pathway steps (worth €50)
    • Mindful Academy International 8 week MBSR Course Session Plans and Participant Manual with authorization to use when teaching live in person MBSR 8 Week courses. 
    • Certificate as a Level 2 Mindfulness MBSR Teacher (For the option to graduate as a Qualified Mindfulness MBSR Teacher, see below)
    • Gold standard Continued Professional Development CPD certificate of attendance with accredited hours to add to your CPD record, along with professional skills to add to your curriculum vitae 
    • Ongoing mentoring by email and with the closed Mindfulness Teaching Community
    • Optional Mindfulness Meditation Supervision in line with the Mindfulness Best Practice Guidelines
    • Directed Learning non-contact hours: The personal and professional pre-course study including reading the required books is estimated to be 132 hours

    How do I graduate as a Qualified Mindfulness MBSR Teacher?

    If you have taken the 10 day 100hr Level 1 Course, on successful completion of this 8 day Level 2 course and 8 hours of supervision with Mindful Academy International teaching 1 x 8-week MBSR course you will also receive a Qualified Mindfulness Teacher Certificate and be able to use QMT after your name. 

    If you have taken a 6 day Level 1 course with us, on successful completion of this 8 day Level 2 course and 16 hours of supervision with Mindful Academy International teaching 2 x 8-week MBSR Courses you will receive the Qualified Mindfulness Teacher certificate and be able to use QMT after your name.

  • Who is the course suitable for?

    The Level 2 Teacher Training course is an opportunity to engage in a personal and group learning process which is designed to support and deepen understanding and skills in teaching and integrating mindfulness-based approaches in professional practice.

    This further teaching development process is intended for professionals who have:

    • Previously attended a mindfulness-based Teacher Training Level 1 with Mindful Academy International or an equivalent course with another training organisation, please contact us if you are not sure about equivalency (see also note 1)
    • Attended a 5 - 7 day guided Mindfulness MBSR Silent Retreat 
    • Practiced Teaching the MBSR core practices including Mindful Movement learned during the Level 1 course to family, friends, and clients in classes, workshops or as part of your profession. 
    • Optional depending on the skills of the individual -
      • Co-lead an 8-week MBSR course and/or
      • Lead an 8-week MBSR course with Supervision as per the Mindfulness Good Practice Guidelines (a minimum of 3 hours of supervision per course)

    The course includes assessment, feedback and development of your teaching skills with the support of the Mindfulness-based Intervention Teaching Assessment Criteria (MBI-TAC) You will also continue to learn how to take the MBI-TAC forward to support your own development as a teacher.

    Once you have been accepted and paid the deposit, you will receive the detailed 8 Week MBSR Course Session Plans, Resources and Participants Workbook so that you can start to prepare and teach straight away. 

    (Note 1) If you are aiming to take Level 2 as part of the Mindful Academy International Teacher Training Pathway, you need to have taken your Level 1 Teacher Training with us. If you are taking it as a stand-alone training Continued Professional Development CPD we accept a broader range of Level 1 training.

  • How to apply for a space on the course

    Please complete the application form which can be downloaded below. The form then needs to be returned to Kathy Ward at [email protected] We normally reply within 24-48 hours.

    On acceptance you will be asked to pay the 400 euro non refundable deposit. The balance is then due 8 weeks before the course starts.

    You will then be sent the pre-course study information which includes the 8 week course session plans and participants workbook. We will also arrange your first supervision session (included in the price) and invite you to the closed Level 2 FaceBook community page and the monthly meditation sessions.

  • Getting to the Cabragh Lodge

    There are flights from London Gatwick, Stansted, Luton, Bristol, Birmingham, Edinburgh to the nearest airport which is Knock, West of Ireland.  http://irelandwestairport.com/flight_information/destination)

    There is no public transport from the Knock airport to Cabragh Lodge however private taxis can be booked for the 45 minute journey at a cost of approximately €30 return depending on the time of day or night. It may also be possible to share a taxi with other students. 

    There are also regular flights to Dublin and a bus connection from the airport X 2 daily, to Cooloney which is 10kms from the centre. A taxi service can also be arranged to meet you from the bus.
