  • TEDx 'What If' Workhop at 11.00 am on Sunday 30th June at the ClujHub in Cluj, Romania

Our lives are becoming more and more demanding yet our ability to manage those demands isn't improving. We are constantly busy but no matter how good we get at multitasking we still feel like something is missing.

Our minds are designed to problem solve, so we go around and around in our heads, trying to make sense of life, not because we are doing anything wrong, but because life can at times be difficult. This can be mentally and physically exhausting, and in the long term could result in sleep and anxiety disorders, burn out and mental health issues.

So what if there was another way? This workshop with Senior International Mindfulness Trainer, Supervisor and Teacher Kathy Ward will introduce you to mindful awareness and the amazing fact that the challenges and difficulties that get our brains working in overtime with the "What If's' are workable, there is something we can do to counterbalance the pressure of modern life!

As Pico Iyer says in his book The Art of Stillness, A TED Original,

"In an age of speed, I began to think; nothing could be more invigorating than going slow"

"In an age of distraction, nothing could feel more luxurious than paying "

"And in an age of constant movement, nothing is more urgent than sitting "

  • Teaching Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness. The Why, What and How!

    90 minute Live online workshop.

Research has estimated 90% of the world's population will be exposed to a traumatic event over the course of their lives (Frans, Rimmo, Aberg & Fredrikson, 2005) and up to 20% of us will develop post-traumatic stress.

The latest research and figures also show that anywhere mindfulness is being practiced, even in the classes we teach to the general public, someone in the room is likely to be struggling with unresolved trauma.

So as mindfulness teachers, what does this research mean? how do we adapt our teaching so we 'do no harm'?

This live-online workshop with CEO Kathy Ward explores why we need to change the way we teach, what we need to do so that we are able to offer trauma-sensitive practices to the general public, and how you can adopt the essential trauma-sensitive skills straight away into teaching and practice.

    Dates:

    • Saturday 27th April at 12.00 (GMT +2)

    • Saturday 26th October at 12.00 (GMT +2)
