• 2019 Mindfulness Level 2 Course Curriculum

    Saturday arrival day - 

    • Orientation
    • Opening the circle 
    • Teaching Methodology -  
      • Exploring the aims and learning objectives of the Level 2 Course
      • Deepening understanding of the 6 domains of Teaching Mindfulness MBSR Meditation from the MBI-TAC and Mindfulness Pedagogy
      • Exploring the aims and intentions of teaching the 8 week MBSR Course and other mindfulness-based approaches 
      • Reviewing the pre-course participant interview including important health and wellbeing considerations with special consideration for teaching trauma-sensitive mindfulness to general population
    • Silent Mindfulness meditation practice
    • Welcome dinner followed by overnight silence

    Sunday day two - Deepening the Embodiment of Mindfulness

    • Full day of Silent guided silent practice within which there will be opportunity for individual interviews with the teachers. The intention of this is to facilitate the transition into and access to a deeper and wider spaciousness of mindful awareness which will inform the developmental processes that will follow. 

    Monday day three - Session One and Two Exploring Mindfulness and our Perceptions and Relationship to the challenges and stressors in our lives

    • Morning silent Mindfulness Meditation practice
    • Practice and Training -
      • Session Two practical guided by Kathy Ward and assisted by the Teaching Assistant
    • Teaching Methodology - 
      • Exploring Session Two intentions and learning objectives plus incorporating key elements into mindfulness-based approaches
      • Preparation and practice teaching
    • Teaching Practical -
      • Either guiding a 30 minute or 60 minute section of Session Two practice with informal or formal feedback in a small group (formal by Kathy Ward or a Teaching Assistant supported by the MBI-TAC assessment)
    • Teaching Methodology -
      • Regroup and discuss the day, time for questions and answers, closing the day

    Tuesday day four - Session Three, The Power of being Present: Living all your moments

    • Morning silent Mindfulness Meditation practice
    • Practice and Training -
      • Session Three practical guided by Kathy Ward and assisted by the Teaching Assistant
    • Teaching Methodology - 
      • Exploring Session Three intentions and learning objectives plus incorporating key elements into mindfulness-based approaches
      • Preparation and practice teaching
    • Teaching Practical -
      • Either guiding a 30 minute or 60 minute section of Session Three practice with informal or formal feedback in a small group (formal by Kathy Ward or a Teaching Assistant supported by the MBI-TAC assessment)

    Wednesday day five- Session Four - Cultivating Curiosity and Openness to the Whole of my Experience

    Thursday day six - Session Five, Building on our Foundation of Mindfulness - Paying attention to our capactity to Respond to Challenges and Stressors

    • Teaching Methodology -
